About Us
Who We Are
Friends of The OPP Museum is a volunteer registered charitable organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the preservation of the history of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and The OPP Museum through outreach, special event initiatives and fundraising.
Friends is made up of volunteers from varied backgrounds and communities who have something in common – an interest in the history of our province and the desire to contribute to their community.
Vision Statement
Friends of The OPP Museum, a non-profit charitable organization, is dedicated to supporting and promoting The OPP Museum, helping it to achieve its long-term goals, and provide financial stability. It supports the preservation of collections, research initiatives, education programming, and exhibits that celebrate the OPP’s heritage. Friends of The OPP Museum is particularly committed to engaging communities throughout the province.
Mission Statement
Friends of The OPP Museum, a non-profit charitable organization, supports and promotes The OPP Museum.
What We Do
Since its incorporation in 2008, Friends has supported research initiatives, connected with people throughout the province through outreach programming, contributed to the development and preservation of the museum’s collection and helped to spread the word about exhibits that celebrate OPP heritage.
Through fundraising, hosting public events, and sponsoring museum activities and promotional materials, Friends help to ensure that the OPP’s more than 110 years of proud policing tradition is recognized, celebrated, and preserved for generations to come.
Friends partner with other museums and other OPP volunteer organizations for joint fundraising and awareness-building events—bringing the community and the OPP together.
Our Members and Supporters
Our members and supporters are people just like you who want to support and promote the proud heritage of the Ontario Provincial Police. Members do not receive a tax receipt for their membership dues, but do have voting rights at the Annual General Meeting. Supporters receive a tax receipt for all contributions, but do not have voting privileges.
We wish to thank everyone who supports Friends and The OPP Museum. Your generous and ongoing support is always deeply appreciated.
